Each card has a different texture - soft goose, prickly straw. Owen likes to take them in and out of the box and get me to read the names. It's a cool concept, but I finally hid the cards under a blanket last week. It was much more exciting for both of us when he found them again today. 
The cards are a little puzzling for Scott and I. They have the standard animals (cow, duck, dog, pig, goat...) and other farm items (barn, scarecrow, tractor...) but we're wondering about this one: 
Is COMBINE HARVESTER really an essential object to learn at 15 months?

Oh - this made me laugh...and laugh! Not to mention it looks like a strange vacuum or a lawn mower. You never know though, Owen might be riding down the road with you sometime soon and point out the window shouting "combine harvester" and you'll think he's a genius!

So true! The fact is, with a son, I promise you in two years you will be amazed at your knowledge of the official names of every truck ever created and every dinosaur that ever lived. Do you know what a Tropeognathus is? Oh, you will...you will.
Hmmm.... I think I see a set of "touch and feel" farm cards in Calla's future...
